What does the tutorial tag mean on a Rust server?

It means Facepunch's new-player tutorial is switched on. You start on a private island and work through gathering, crafting, building and cooking before you join the main map. The server's rates, team limit and wipe schedule are unchanged by it.

Are tutorial servers any good for a clan?

Only if the rest of the settings suit you. The tutorial is a solo island and is over within the first hour, after which you are on the normal map with everyone else. Check the Group column first: a team limit under your clan size rules the server out. Population and wipe timing matter far more to a group.

Do tutorial servers wipe like other servers?

Yes. They follow their own wipe schedule, usually monthly, with some on weekly or biweekly cycles. A map wipe resets the terrain and bases; blueprints reset only if the server chooses. Each server page shows the upcoming wipe estimate.

Can a group play together after the tutorial?

Yes, once you finish the island you join the main map and can team up normally. Watch the team limit, because Rust's default caps a team at 8 and several servers here set lower. If you need no cap at all, filter for it before you commit.
